I was trying to get the degree sign and I pushed the crtl+alt+4 on the numbers pad and my screen turned 90 degrees on the monitor.
I had to turn my monitor on its side to read and type this message.
I can't get it to go back. Help!!!!
I tryed shutting down computor that didn't do it.
Any ideas.

Turn the monitor 90 degrees.

Sorry, someone had to say it.

I had to do that to be able to read and so the mouse would go the right direction.

That was weird.

That was not funny it was reality.

All is better now.

I would try to do the same thing again and see if it continues to turn further. If it does, just do it till it is back where you want it.

I have had this happen to me.
There is a specific key sequence that will rotate your screen.
You can rotate it either way or upside down.
Push CNTRL ALT and some other number such as 3 or 5
Or push CNTRL ALT and one of the arrow keys.
It depends on which hot key sequence is set up for this.
You can change the sequence needed or disable it altogether.
I found this trick by accident one nite and freaked.
But now I know what causes it and how to fix it.
I have an Intel Extreme Graphics icon in the system tray.
I can open that to get a control panel and change these settings.
It is probably/mite be different on your computer.

But you should find it. Just have to find the right keys.

Okay then, if it's running XP do a Restore to a point prior to the mess up. If it's running another O.S., I'm not sure. Sounds to me like you sent a command to the display adapter or to the software associated with it. Maybe check the video adapters manufacturer's web site for more info.

I did a system restore by pressing f11 at start up but that didn't do it either.

I didn.t do one " prior to point of messed up"
how do I do that.

Yes I have XP

Thanks Gary

See you got it fixed. Great! Just for future reference, to do a restore to any point you want.... go to "Start", then "Help and Support" on the right, then under "Pick a Task" you'll see "System Restore". Clicking this will walk you through choosing a date to restore to. You can also create a Restore point from here. When I'm trying out a new driver or program, I usually create a restore point prior to installation. That way if something goes wrong, or I don't like the results I can return to the point before the screw up.
