I purchased a distributor to replace the mag on my 47 allis b does this install the same way as the magneto? Do you install at the fire mark or do you install at the center mark??? How should I adjust the points in the distributor???

Got a WD 45 with a mag. Someone put a coil, resister onit, scabed the high voltage lead from the coil into the mag.It sure wasn't the guy I bought it from. Guess the mag give out.Tractors 125 miles up north. If I get it down here where I got more time I'll check it out. Sure don't look pretty, wire sticking out the side of the mag with silicone all around it. BUT it sure runs good.

If it was me, I wouldn't be making the change, especially in your case if you don't know how to
set the points. A mag is a trouble free spark
system. Wait till you have to mess with the points
rotor, and condenser. I guess each to his own. But
if it was mine and nothing wrong with the mag, I
would leave it alone.
