A while back I posted the story of how we inherited a '51 8N, and then had a shed built for it. I intended to post pictures, but didn't get around to it until now. This is my first picture post, so hopefully it will work out OK. Here they are...

Gotta ask. Is the front of that tractor sitting on a plywood floor? That looks like one of those dutch barn type constructions. I see you have what must be 2X under the rear. What about the joist setup under it? I'd thought about getting one but didn't figure it'd support the weight of a tractor.

The floor is indeed wood. I put down landscape cloth and wire mesh to keep out the gophers. Gravel on top of that. There are 2" thick concrete blocks. PT 4X4 timbers on top of that. The floor frame is on top of these, and is built with PT 2X6, at 1 foot intervals. Then a layer of 1/2" PT plywood, then another layer of 1/2 plywood. On top of all this, I put some old sheets of plywood/siding under the tractor to catch the mud. It's built sturdy, thanks to the Marion County permit people:-)

Sounds like you have it under control. The dutch barns that I"ve seen I believe to be 3/4 plywood floor and I don"t know what kinda support is below that.

That is probably the best protection that tractor has ever had since new. Stan

What a gift . That's a beautiful shed as you call it . I'd call it a small barn or garage . The tractor peers to only have one eye open for some reason . That's a nice n . Are you going to restore it ? N joy . Ken

It has always (as far as I know) only had one headlight. But it works! No plans to restore. The tractor has a future mowing and such on our 3.5 acres.
