Haulin bricks around the west side of portland got kinda fun this morning. got even more fun when I started using that funny little forklift that I haul around on the back of the truck. they are really helpless in the slick stuff.

30 mi. SE of Portland at 1,200 ft. we got 7" before it warmed above freezing. Still snowing, but with the warmer air it's coming off the trees now.

In '84 we tried to drive to Reno during Spring Break. The valley was OK, but all the passes were "closed" -- officially, anyway. The only legal way out of the valley was down the Columbia to the coast & the Hwy. Dept. had already taken all the plows off their rigs. We chained up a VW rabbit & made over Willamette Pass.

It's 8:20 AM in beautiful downtown Chehalis, and its snowing so hard you can't see the other end of the block. Got a skiff overnight, but now it's starting to accumulate. What fun.

Hey Keith I was in your wonderful state yesterday on the west side in the Aurora Wilsonville area. Trying to load up equipment with 40 mph winds and a cold rain that went right thru your clothes and gloves. I was so froze that I got in the truck and didn't get out till I was halfway home. Was not much better in Wa though. What a tough trip home with blinding rain and wind and loaded up to the gills. But my Duramax did awesome and never got below 50 even in the hills and was gvw about 28000 lbs. Made it kind of interesting around the scales. Migraine

Your so correct Migraine, when the wind blows down there it goes right thur you, all that moisture in the air. Good thing you did it yesterday as you might have hit snow on roads today.

Don't know about slipping around those scales thou. Don't think I have ever done that...Only every chance I could, if in doubt and could find away around. :>)

Kids are going to work on that Super C this weekend. I'll put the trans cover back on today and they get to put bolts back in.

We"ve got about 2" or 3" on the west side. This certainly breaks my Willamette Valley snow rule. ie. If it doesn"t snow by February 15, it won"t snow. Sure glad I built the HCI at the Rosebud.
