I"m looking at purchasing a l2550. Its a one owner tractor w/ a loader which is in good condition. The tractor seems to start and run well. The paint is pretty faded, muffler bent, and some dents in the tin work, the throtle only works on the floor board, needs a new seat ( the bottom is cracked and the cushion is destroyed ) the forward and reverse lever has been welded back on and the cover is broke, the rear housing is cracked around the plug above the 3-point. It"s been welded once and has cracked again. The owner told me its about 12 years old but I"ve also been told they last made them in 1990. I'm trying to find out what the tractor is worth in its current state.

I just bought the same tractor. Mine is a L2550DT (four wheel drive). Mine is supposed to be a 1990. It needs some TLC, but it works great so far. I am looking for a repair manual and a cab to fit it. NorminN.B.

I bought it from a Kubota Dealer, with loader and new tires, I paid 10,000. Canadian. Mechanically it is A1, just needs a few dents removed from the sheet metal. NorminN.B.

Assuming that is a L 2550, They were made from 85 to 90. 23 PTO Horsepower, 29 engine. I would say 3000 to 4500. for avg and up depending on where you live. What you have described, I would not guess, Unless you are ready to spend money on parts and lots of time or labor $ Have a professional give you a price and repair estamate locally.

thanks,
i live in nebraska. i"ve talked with a dealer over the phone and i was told i"d be looking at 1500.00 to 2000.00 to fix the housing. Labor was the largest part of the cost. He suggested finding a used housing and doing the work myself which would not be a problem. My dad enjoys overhauling just about anthing from tractors to dozers. Haven"t ever tackled a kubota yet but maybe this one would be a good deal if bought right.
Thanks Again
