I recently purchased a b-80 wheel horse the year is unknown. It has a fairbanks and morse one cylinder motor. I cant get it running and it doesnt have any spark. I think it is the coil. Does any body know how to diagnose this problem?

Most likely you have a wisconsen motor and you are reading the name on the magneto.

FM did make a few air cooled engines but not many. Mag is probably a FM-J or FM-X and if number has a 7 in it like FM-J1B7 it's a Wisconsin. The 7 is mfg. code for Wisconsin engine. Probably need to change the points and condenser first. Set FM-J points at .020" and FM-X points at .015". Should be able to get tune up parrt at Napa or auto supply local. If not holler at me for parts. Coils are available and do go bad too but check for clean points and adjustment first. Points may only need cleaning.
