On my JD 4050 with powershift transmission when the engine is below 1000 rpm's the transmission light will come on when you excellerate it goes off,is the transmission pump weak or a leaking somewhere? I have changed the filters and the oil and cleaned the little metal filter and that has not helped, what next? Thanks

What next??? Well, first you need the pressure "specs", and need to know where to hook up a mechanical test gauge, to see if the pressure is really low, or there is a wiring or sender problem causing the warning light to come on.

If you plan to work on this tractor yourself, the first thing you'll need is a genuine Deere shop manual.

Had that same problem with my 4450 powershift. The trans pressure light began to flash at every shift and finally would stay on at low rpm. I checked trans pressure at the light sender and found it normal, replaced the sender and problem was gone. This happened at about the 10 year mark on a now 19 year old tractor,so may be near replacing another one.

I am not an expert here, but I had a 4430 with quad range that developed the same problem. Initially, the trans light would flash when shifting...then it eventually would stay on when the rpm was low. These lights indicate low pressure and in some models, high temperature as well. Since it goes out with higher rpm, I would assume it is indicating a low pressure situation. So, you could have a multitude of problems...a bad pressure pump, bad internal pump, or a high pressure leak somewhere that is causing a low pressure situation. For my tractor, the initial problem was leaking packings in the rockshaft...but the icing on the cake that was when the 2 speed went.

Good luck...hope it turns out to be an easy fix for you. Speaking from experience...I tried to trouble shoot my tractor myself and spent a bit of money as well as wasting my time. Find a good JD mechanic that does a bit of moonlighting and pay him to bring his gauges and troubleshoot it at your home. Then you will have a pretty good idea what the problem is and how much it will cost to fix.
