Sorry guys must have clicked on wrong post as I did not see the ones that correctly identified the loader. I wish the good Lord had made me a little smarter instead of so darn good looking. Dave NE IA

I was thinking Coats or perhaps a Mayes, The spikes or spurs kinda throw me a little. I'm looking at pre war Coats sales literature, Ft. Dodge Iowa. Yours is definatly not the one in the sales literature. I have a Mayes, but I don't think it looks right for reasons I can't figure out. I will try to find you some answers. Dave NE IA

My dad had one of those, mounted on an A John Deere. Not the most convenient outfit but sure beat a pitch fork. I don't remember the brand name but somehow it seemed like it might have been Coats. The local John Deere dealer had a small acreage and hired Dad to clean out a cattle shed. Dealer's hired man was using a C Allis Chalmers to pull a John Deere spreader. The shed set in a low area and they had to stand on the front of the C to get away from the shed due to the weight of the spreader. After a few loads the C came back without drawbar or spreader. The bolts holding the drawbar had sheared off due to the excess weight. Those were the good old days.
