I have a 4840 that the hydraulics quit at a low idle. I can give it fuel and the hydraulics start working. After about 1 hour of disking with the tractor of about 1500 rpm, the hydraulics will quit again. I have to give it more fuel to get the hydraulics to work. After that they quit all together. During this time I always have power steering and power brakes. I have checked the sump screen, it is clean, changed the fluid. The fluid is cool even after the hydraulics quit. Can this be the transmission pump? The return line is not hot. Thank-you for any replys.

You may have a weak charge pump , this is located behind the flywheel on a powershift tranny, you must check the pressure . Check specs in manual , maybe 150 to 180 psi , varies on models , and also disconnect outlet pipe and measure volume , again check specs ,but a few seconds will fill a bucket. Steering /brakes/rockshaft use main pump pressure 2250 psi with a 1600 psi prioity valve . my info is based on 4430 and 4230 quad numbers but I hope to have pointed you in the right direction

greetings from the UK ,those two are the big horses on my farm 13000 hours on the 4230 and 180 hp on the 4430 they don't make em like that any more !

Please dont take my question the wrong way, but did you try another implement and get the same results?

What condition is the pump drive coupler in on the front of the engine?
