need some help please. i have just bought a mid 70's ford 4500 backhoe. on the rear of the tractor where the backhoe attaches to the tractor on the bottom, there is 2 { i dont know what they are called or how to describe them} upside down " c " brackets that hold the 2 bottom pins of the backhoe. 1 c bracket is broken off, when you go to use the backhoe, the pin pops out of the bracket causing the backhoe attachment to fall down. what is the name for these brackets? and do they sell replacement parts? or do i have to fab my own? any help would be appreciated. dont know much about backhoes, but i am learning, thank you for your time and help.

They are called saddles. I am almost certian you can't buy those . I have built up a bunch of them because they will wear into , sounds like what you have . The backhoe attachment is not hard to take off of a 4500 at all . Take it off, and get your local machine shop to send a guy out and repair it . I would get him to look at the other side while he is their.
