So Sorry to hear about you pet. I spoke with the "boss" yesterday and she told me that she had to have the dog put to sleep. This Husky was her daughters prior to them moving away. Then he became her dog. Well this husky didn't want anything to do with her unless it meant that he was being fed. He would hover around me sometimes when he wanted to be petted. This is the same dog that had bit me twice (first time was a SERIOUS inconvienence at the "hospital" The second time I needed to have three stitches in my thumb. Well I can deal with this. Due to the fact that he is her daughters dog. Even though he has bit me twice It's hard to swallow.

Just treasure the unconditional love he gave to you while he was here. That's what their life is all about and you provided him the oportunity to live and do what he loved...being with you. He would want you to grieve, but he would also want you to give to another what he enjoyed for so many years. We have had many through the years and it always seems like the last one always "sends" the next one just at the right time and place. I think they just have a "plan" for us.You will heal..it's in the plan. Hope I have helped a little.

Losing a companion like that is like losing a family member. I still remember having to put my shepard to sleep thirty years ago. My condolences.

I have a friend who's in a situation like that with her "friend" it has kidney stones === $800 surguery needed... and she couldnt come up with $800 if it were her son let alone a dog-- that she's had for as long as her son...
