I have changed the coil, points, cap, condensor, rotor. Not sure what to do. Not sure what to do next. This tractor was converted to 12V a year or two ago. I have 12V at the top of hte coil. I have haven't check this voltage when i crank it over. What should the voltage be when the points are closed "0"?

Please help...Its almost lawn mowing time.

I had a 9N years ago and I remember haveing to rebush the rotor shaft because it wobbled to much to accurately set the point gap. I also had issues with the front mounted distributor such as the contact from the coil to the distributor (little spring thing). I sold it because these little show stoppers outweighed the tractors marginal capabilities.

rr, Fords arent my thing but anytime the ignition is on there should always be voltage on the coils input (from switch) terminal. ON the coils other (to points) terminal, the voltage should read near zero when the points are closed but near battery voltage when open. A test lamp on the side of the coil to the points should flash on (points open) and off (points closed) as the engine is cranked over. If it never flashes off the points arent closing or bad or not well grounded or the wire/circuits open from the coil to the points.
