Expensive lesson learned...

Just learned an expensive lesson the hard way today. A few months ago, I was cleaning the rad on my '52 JD A, and poked a hole in it by accident. Well, finally took it in to the rad shop last week, picked it up today. $150 bucks gone. All because of a foolish little mistake. :-(

On the bright side, my rad is clean now. :-)

Oh well, they say the school of hard knocks is the best one to learn from.

After adding a batch dryer I didn't use the bin dryer for a few years. When started, it would die out. Serviceman said lack of LP fuel coming through the line. Remembered puring cement there, turned out the form stake pinched the fuel line underground.

Dug a huge hole to pull a stump, about 20 feet from my back barn door. Pulled the stump (chain and come-a-long, hooked to another tree), was late in the day, so I gave it up until the next time I had an opportunity. Out of site out of mind, I guess. About a week later, needed my little garden tractor that I keep in the barn, was in a hurry, backed right into the hole I had dug. Did some damage to my little garden tractor, but more damage was done to my ego. I always thought I had some sense of safety, but things like that really wake you up. I have always found that people do things they normally wouldn't, when they get in a big hurry. Stay safe out there. JohnG

you mean like the time I let.....
1)the gearbox of my bushhog get low on gear oil
2)the time I ran my volkswagon low on oil
3)the time I ran my 1st bushog to close to a broken cable from the telephone pole
4)the time I got the wagon to close to the tree
etc-we all pay stupid tax.

Specter,
Been there too! I bet if all of these guys were honest, you'd have more responses then you could ever read. Glad you're looking on the bright side.
