Hey all,
I am in need of new tires for my MF 1080 and my MF backhoe. An upcoming local auction is advertising some new tractor tires in their sale so I figure i should go in with some prices in mind. So, has anyone purchased tires recently sized 16.9-38 or 16.9-24? What is the current rate for a calcium fill/mount? Located in upstate NY if that makes a huge difference.
Thanks

About the auction.. in reply to SteveTinNY, 03-20-2006 17:10:53
Every time I have been to the auction you talk about the tires get sold to another dealer in his buddy list. If he isn't happy with the bid on the first pair he sells them all in a lot together, and nobody really needs that many tires, so they go to someone in his circle.

In otherwords, go to a good local tire dealer after the auction.. You will probably get a better deal.

I do not know how good of price this is, but we normally sell the 16.9-38 in Fireston Field and road tire 8 ply for 581.00, the 6 ply sells for 502.00. the 16.9-24 firestone field and road 8 ply sells for 366.98. Tucker tire has some no name tire on Ebay for 480.00 per set plus $90.00 shipping on the 16.9-24. that will give you some idea of where to go in price. As for installing the tire, they are easier to install than truck or car tires, you could do that yourself. Then call about the chloride injection. Good luck.

I would go to Miller Tires web site or Tucker Tire over on Ebay and get prices. They are about the cheapest tires around. That should give you some idea what tires can be had for. I would call whoever is going to mount them for you and get a quote so you know the mounted and filled price up front.
