Yeah - I drove my Dad's tractor to Washington from Topeka Kansas. I was in college at the time so I laid out for a semster to make the trip. Took 16 days and we were there for about 2 months.

I was still in high school when that happened but I remember it well.
Funny part about that protest was farmers were better off then then they have been since.
Nixon said "you farmers never had it so good"
I didn't like Nixon but I think what he said had a lot of truth.
Just my opinion.

well Technically I think Nixon might have been right however very (I mean very!) shortly after he made that statement things got tough. Machinery got hard to get, then here in Indiana we got hit with the Blight then his sucsessor tossed on that stupid EMBARGO because he thought we were endager of running out of soybeans---ya really good example of "MARKET ECONOMY" that his bunch preach yet this day... ya thanks..

as for the best times I think we had were from 93-96... yes even better than 68-70
