My Hydraulic problems continue. I have changed the hydraulic oil and filter and cleaned the sump filter. I warmed the tractor up for 30 minutes (20 degree weather) and still cannot operate the front end loader. As prior to the change the PTO will not operate the backhoe as it did on Saturday. Is there a filter or screen on the gear driven hydraulic pump I can check? Is there a way to verify if the pump is working?

Get a clean bucket then remove the main pressure line going to the control valve. Aim end of hose in the bucket. If possible, leave kill control out or disconnect and crank engine. If little or no fluid comes out your pump is either not pumping or is starving for oil. Next step would be to remove suction hose from pump to make sure it has plenty of constant flow to it. If the flow of oil is a problem, even though you have cleaned the sump screen, I have seen them have a clear varnish on them and not let enough oil through. IF oil is plentiful to the pump, depending how pump is driven, a keyway may be sheared and pump is not operating. Most cases a pump does not go bad suddenly unless ice or chucks of debris has damaged it.

Suggest you go to "tractorbynet" on the Mahindra forum and ask the question. Lot of Mahindra owners there. Also, have you asked your Dealer??

Does loader and backhoe work off same pump? Does your loader operate slowly or not at all? As for the PTO pump, look for a kink or collapse hose on the suction side. You may even have to remove suction hose and check the inside of it for ruptured inner liner.

The backhoe and loader operate from different pumps. Loader is engine mounted and backhoe is pto mounted.

Is the pump that operate loader an add on or is it the main pump that came with tractor and operates 3 point. If it is main pump, how does 3 point respond?

It is the main pump on the engine and the three point does not operate.

I don't know the whole story here, but have you considered that maybe the pump itself is bad? Changing the oil is the tractor equivalent of blood letting, an ancient "medical" practice that was supposed to cure the body of many ailments. If it didn't kill the patient, it certainly didn't cure them... It's good to change the hydraulic oil once in a while to flush some of the crud out of the system, but changing it to cure a problem? Waste of time and money. The filter, on the other hand, could be a possibility if the tractor was poorly maintained. Normally that would only cause slowdowns and low pressure, not a complete failure.

Nope, if everything is dead, it's probably the pump.
