Got another question on my 54 NAA 4 speed - shifter is very loose, I can even lift it about an inch or two, roll pin is there, does shift into all gears, but is sloppy. I have not taken off top cover as don't know what to look for. Put kit in carb. and after installation, it overflows thru drain in the bottom of carb. Re-adjusted float, checked needle valve (new), and still drips when just sitting-motor not running? Needle valve rubber is fine, slips smoothly inside main jet, floats don't rub on the bowl, when upside-down I can blow air thru gas line and not when turned right-side up...tells me the valve is shutting off...after taking it apart 8-10 times it is killing me. I just drained all fluids and all had water - flushed and filling again...tractor has been sitting for 4 yrs. outside. Thermostat housing is cracked and wonder if anyone out there has one for sale? Motor fired up first try...that is a good thing! Learning as I go.

Give this a try on the carb. Open it up one more time. Remove the floatand then drop the needle in to the seat after, makeing sure the seat is tight. They can and will leak if the seat isn't tight enough. Then with the needle in the seat tap on the needle with a small hammer etc. What that does is sets the rubber tip, seen that to many times and most of the time that will fix the problem. Got that from an old carb guy, hes gone now.
