I have a friend who is having head gasket problems with a Massey Ferguson 180 with the Perkins 236. Is this a wet or dry sleeve block, and what is the liner height above the deck. Thanks for the info.

It is a dry sleeve block. How does the head gasket fail? Also when the gasket is replaced do you do a retorque?

I haven't personally worked on the tractor. I think it is getting coolant into one of the cylinders because it smokes white and losses power after getting up to temp. He has had the gasket done 3 or 4 time already by the same so called mechanic. I told him to have him retorque it also. Torque all headbolts then loosen them up and retorque them to preflatten the gasket. I do alot of inframe overhauls of Detroit Series 60 and C12 Cats.
