Got plowing and chisel plowing done. Working on knifeing in some manure now. Almost middle of January in N. IL never imagined that. It very very very very dry for this time of year and very very scary. Lakes around here are very low.Ground dry enough to work and absolutly no snow to melt and supplement moisture odnt like that fact.

Yeppers, mighty warm this time of year. Was 60 degrees here today in NE Oregon Normal temp in low 30's.

Figured it was going to be mild winter,as my horse did not start getting winter coat up untill mid Oct.

Yeah, 60 degrees, but what Keith failed to mention is that it started raining before Christmas and hasn't stopped- we've had 25 straight days of rain here, setting records- Chehalis River came out of its banks this morning, projected a couple feet over flood stage (not a big deal, but bothersome- the higher it gets, the longer my "flood route" home from town). Only "field work" around here is getting the cows to higher ground.

If you can plow and you use manure in a garden this is a very good time to work it in. I just dumped about 10 bobcat bucket full on my garden a few days ago but it rained on it today so I'll not worry about the plowing it under yet.

Yep, farmers in the field here in NE Colorado to. Usual frost is 2 to 4 foot at this time of year.
