Hi Guys,

Well, since decals are the next order of business, we had our first baby-bath following the massive reconstructive surgery. Old gal sure looks different than she used to.

Still gotta figure out that darned internal tranny leak and then I think she's 'bout ready fer the hay field.

Hope the pictures turned out okay; I was running out of daylight. :>(

That just can't be the same tractor...can it?

Nice job! My 2510 will be shipping out to NE shortly. It needs a miracle transformation and I think you are just the guy for the job!

Lookin good Allan. I suppose that gleaner is next on the list? Are you going to stick with the daul loader or find a f-11?

Mornin' Todd,

All that old DuAl needs is a coat of paint and a little fabrication on the belly mounting straps.

I've got Jim looking for a quicktache model, but if he doesn't call me within the next week or so, I'll have the DuAl back on this tractor.

Yeah, that old gleaner is gonna be fun. :>)

Allan,
Good lookin' piece of equipment there. I'd be proud to own it. Do ya have any clue what the internal hydro leak is from, or jus' gonna send the ol girl to someone else to figure out?
Whatever you do, good luck, and have fun in the hay fields,
JohnDeereGreen

Mornin' JD,

All I know is that the goofy thing is de-strokin' itself when going forward; in reverse, it is strongern' a bull.

I've been in her three times now and am kickin' myself that I didn't keep on going the last time as I was right there at those servos and stopped.

It has just gotta be something wrong with that pump servo and I'm just not seeing it. This old tractor is gonna pull right 'er darnit, I'll know the reason why. :>)

Thanks fer the hollar,

Allan

Well Allan, with the way you geting deals on equip most would pass on, fixing em up almost to new, all the while inceasing the $$$ of your assets, I am sure you will be very succesful in your venture back into farming. I have pals that laugh at what I have bought and am planning on buying. Most of them dont have half the equity in the farm I do and think they have to have new this, new that, even though they really cant afford it. They keep saying its a tax write off. Well interest on this farm is enough write off for me at this point. I worry where my pals will be in a few years with their $40,000 trucks and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of leined equipment, when I hear them say they gotta run to the bank and "borrow?" a grand or two to " get caught up on all the other bank payments. My hats off to ya, I will be asking advise in the spring when I start out cropping rather than renting out. Nice hydro by the way!!

Allen, Wasn't this supposed to be a tractor that you got to get field ready and said it would have to wait on the special treatment lol :). Looks great. Hope you get the hydro fixed. Good luck with her.

I know, I know.

But, I just bought a little battery cover, then a pair of fenders, then I thought well, I'll just take the time to fix the lights too while I'm at it. And then, and then, and then..... :>)

One day, I just told my wife that I just gotta go ahead and give 'er the full treatment. My picky nature, I guess :>)

Now, I'm way behind on fixen the baler and the swather. Always something, but boy! Am I ever having fun with this old iron! :>)

Okay, will do.

I'm really wanting to get the hydraulics hooked up to something to see how everything works; appears okay, but ya never know 'til ya load 'em down with something heavy.

I just know fer almost certain that this was a salvage yard "throw together" tractor. The front end and most of the 3-point is off an 806.

ROOT! ROOOO!

I need to ship a couple o old pigs of mine your way.

Just ordered up a 17gpm hydrolic pump for my 504. That should run my loader the way I want. Still won't look like an Allan tractor though!

Hey Bill!

Where'd ya order the pump from? Bates?

Sure be interested to see how much of a difference you get in the larger pump. They say it is the cat's meow and the only way to go.

Now trying to dedcide whether to take out a loan for a heathouser...

In April 1975 my Father took delivery of his new Hydro 70 equipped with a D312 motor. That unit later received a Hiniker cab and a 2250 loader with a shopbuilt subframe to relive the stress on the torquetube. The Hydro was never touched in 28 years. Of course it only received HY-TRAN oil. With a set of chains and the same size snowbucket it would outwork my 5220 Maxxum 4X4 that had no chains; outpush and out manouver. Unfortunitely the tractor was stolen from my garage. Sure do miss it. QR

Hi Red,

Yep, I could see where this one had a cab at one time also.

I kinda like the old sow, but just haven't gotten used to that gas engine just yet. :>)

Sure is nice under that loader tho and I think it is gonna be just the berrys when we get 'er in the hay field too. :>)
