I've got a wide front Allis WD in fair shape, has a loader on it too. Has anyone ever took the bucket off the loader arms, and converted the loader arms to operate a snow plow on the front of the tractor. Seems like it should be able to work, with the right sharpie cutting, welding, and fitting it all up. I've got a long drive way from the county road to my house, it would be nice to push the snow off, rather than try to blade it off from behind with angle blade. I have to use my JD 630 to blade from the rear. Please let me know.

I've done that twice, same tractor .First was a loader off an Allis put on a JD2520 Someone, I won't say who , he probrobly reads this forum was
plowing the church parking lot, to fast and folded the loader back. Second was same tractor with a New Idea loader on it He learned to go slow, and
as far as I know it is still going. Take your time
and make sure it has shoes or make it spring loaded
I put springs from a NH haybine head on the second
time.

I did what you're talking about with my Farmall M. I have a Bush-hog/Freeman 2000 loader on it that has a very heavy frame. I removed the bucket, started propping up material for a blade, and then made the necessary bracing back to the loader arms. What I ended up with is 42" high, 8' wide, and has moved snow for 30 years now. It takes about 10 minutes to attach, and about 5 minutes to remove. If you get into some serious snow, you WILL need to add weight to the back of your tractor.

Well other then the fact I use a ford 841 I made/built a V plow for my front end loader. It 9 foot wide so all I have to do is make one pass and I'm done. I hae 2 miles of drive to do. Drop me an e-mail if you want pictures. I have it set up so it hooks to the bucket so I don't have to take the bucket off which makes it faster and easiser
