When did John Deere change their logo? I think the logo started out as a four-legged deer on the downward side of a jump, then it went to a three-legged deer and now it’s a two-legged deer jumping upward. Anyone know the entire story?

And now, the rest of the story in reply to Mike Burdick, 01-05-2006 09:40:54
as Paul,Harvey would say.The logo inside the box came about because Deere research told Deere marketing dept.that people automatically look at anything in the shape of a TV screen. So when the shape of the TV screen changed over the years,so did the Deere logo to match the TV screen shape of the day.Evidently the maketing dept.at Deere doesn't know this story today.
It's along the same lines of thinking at Sears when Sears always had the candy department in the main aisle.Sears knew that candy purchases were on (sight)impulse 90% of the time.Sears hasn't sold candy for probably 30 years now,but I still buy it on impulse.Especially that Dark Chocolate Hershey.lol, bob
