I've owned a Kubota M 4500 for about a year and am generally pretty impressed with it. A real 4WD workhorse with a FEL, lots of gears including a creeper transmission and a quiet 6 cylinder motor. It's not very torqy and the gears aren't set up for road work but it excels at bull-work. Does anybody else have one of these rigs who would like to share information? I cant' find much on the web about them in the form of material or discussion. I'd love to find a shop manual. I have the parts book and the owner's manual but would like the real thing. I'd be real interested if somebody knows more. Thanks

I have a MX5000 that has a FEL, it works like horse and will pull like a bull, It might be small but it can easily pick-up a 1800 pound round bale and move it. You might try your local dealer for a shop manual, they might be able to help. Good luck and let us know if and where you find one!

Good tractor, I have an M4700 which is a newer version. The older are real tanks. You can get a book from your Kubota dealer, they can get most anything you need. I wish there was a Kubota forum someplace that was just for Kubota's as after owning a few I have become a real enthusiast. Used to be a die hard Deere man but the price and dependibility changed me from green to orange!

I laughed when I read your description of the older ones as "real tanks". I never thought of it that way before but it is a perfect description. How is the M4700 different? I am curious what was changed in the newer models to make them less of a tank. There are sites where people talk about Kubotas but they are all "compact" tractors and not of much help. I asked the Kubota dealer if I could get hold of a true workshop manual but he said I would need a second mortgage. I can't seem to find any other sources and googling on the different references doesn't turn up much response.

Bob,- After owning masseys for 40 years, that little 6 cyl. diesel runs sweet and smooth. Good on fuel too. mine is an orchard model (m-4500oc) and use it in peach orchards. look on e-bay for a manuel.
