Sharvey, Did you ever decide for sure that your tractor was assembled in the Arthurdale plant? My grandfather worked at the plant there. We have not been able to locate any documintation showing what exact tractors were assembled here or what the serial #'s were.

On your Coop you asked for information, well if your tractor actually was made in West Virginia the national Cockshutt Club would be interested in talking with you because as they say "Numbering on the West Virginia version is unkowen as no specific tractors can be traced to the West Virginia plant." And that is for the No. 2, not a B2 or a B2jr. The B2 jr had a 4-cylinder Continental Model 41 L-head 162.4 CU in engine with a 3 7/16" bore and 4 3/8" stroke rated at 33.4 brake HP at 1500 rpm, 3,100# and had a Silver King 4 speed transmission and rear end and the engine also was the same as the Silver King and only 66 B-2Jrs were made. Now the B-2 was made to start with a 201 cu in Chrysler Indrustrial L-head 6 cylinder engine and a 4 speed transmission on 38" rear wheels. The B-3 had a Chrysler 242 cu in 6 cylinder engine and was only built for a short while till the 242" was offered in the B-2 by moving the rear motor mount 2" back and shortning the drive shaft, and all B-2, B-3 and B-2Jrs were built in Shelbyville, Ind. and most were built in 1941. If your tractor actually was built in West Virginia could it actually be a No. 2 with 28" rear wheels and the same engine? All this information is in the book "Cockshutt, the complete story" compiled by the International Cockshutt Club Inc. and the club address is, International Cockshutt Club, Contact; Lynn Harold Vernon, 168 Garland Line Road, Dover-Foxcraft, ME 04426. Now I need to figure out if it has a 201 or 242 chrysler 6 cyl. I don't know how to decipher those serial#s either!

Do you have the pan off? The 201 Chrysler is different. I have a friend who knows, but I think he went to Florida. Find me on the hpoca web site and I will talk to you too. Happy New year.

It should have a silverking trans and rear, with a continential engine. The rest is made to match the rest of the co-op line.Look for CWC on the engine block.A couple good pictures would be a big help.

The hoods and grills on these co-ops are lookalikes. The B2jr has a 4 cylinder contential engine and the brake pedals are behind the axel. The B2 has a 6 cylinder chrysler engine 201ci,brake pedals just in front of the axel.Looking at pictures from the front it would be hard to tell them apart.

I had no idea that there were 2 models...everything that I have seen (not much) has stated that there was only the b2jr w/chrysler 6cyl. Thanks so much for that info, I had no idea.Anything else you could share on the b2 would be of great help, and any publications that you know of on the subject would be great!
Thanks so much!
