Hi You Guys!

Feelin' pretty darned snorty today and I'm thinkin' seriously 'bout jackin' this thing up and wrestlin' those tires/wheels off this old tractor to replace some axle seals.

The loader is clear out at the farm so I'm gonna give 'er a go using the old armstrong method.

Heck, I did it when I was 21; should still be able to handle 'em some 40 years later. Right? :>)

Allan, I'd wiggle the axle a bit to check the bearing out. That might be the reason for the leaky seal. jim

Allan do you have to take the whole wheel off? I thought I heard someone say once you could take the block or wedge out and slip the new seal in. Those wheels are real akward to handle by yourself.

Hi Todd,

Derned if I know. I have it all tore apart out there with it just barely hangin' from one wedge. I'll give 'er a try and see what happens.

Thanks,

Allan

Allan What ever you do;BE CAREFUL!!

I suppose the tires are loaded along with the wheel weights. What will youse to block up the tractor.

Some young fellow was killed when his car fell on him. Police didnt have all the details but think he had the car jacked up and was working underneath when it somehow came down on him.
