Next day I go out there for 5 minutes to get somthing and found what I looked for an hour the day before. Anybody ever do that before? Mike.

Back when I was in High School, I spent a couple of weeks on a ranch owned by a friend's Uncle. He had a HUGE "tool shed" (must have been 30x50). He would use a wrench, open the door and fling it in. Next time he needed the tool, he couldn't find it, so he'd go to town and buy another - and fling it into the shed, THEN couldn't find THAT one....and on, and on! He couldn't get his older (early 60's) JD tractor to run, so we get in the truck and go down to the dealer and he writes a check for a new tractor (somewhere about $40,000)! The guy died the next Summer. We went up to help the Aunt get ready for the sale and found a gold mine in the shed!

Reminds me of fishing. You have your limit and relize you're lost. Just catch another fish and a Game Warden will step out of the bushes.I'm always putting stuff away so I can find it when I need it. Good Luck/

I could never find any tools or anything when my two boys were home. Now that they are grown and left home, I still can't find anything. I mentioned this fact to my oldest. He informed me that the same guy was still scattering things around, but now there was two less people to look for and find things.

I walked into the bedroom with my I&T manual, laid it down and haven't seen it since. She says she had nothing to do with it but I think she may have "cleaned" it. I havent received a ransom note yet.....

I've heard of manuals in the bedroom, even used a couple myself from time to time, but an I + T? Aaron, you're the man. Git er done. I get out machinery in the bedroom and the missus just give s me "the look" and I roll over and go back to sleep like a good boy. Harley

I know this sounds unrealistic but I bet you have trolls living at your place too. They live here! Move things around in the shop, move wrenches from toolbox to toolbox on tractors, and cut trees to fall on fences. They use your equipment at night you can tell because it doesn't run the same (or won't run at all) the next morning as when you stopped the evening before. They heat their homes with your gasoline, propane, diesel or whatever is available because your tanks are low and you know you didn't use that much.
I know a lot of people don't believe in trolls, and my grandson doesn’t believe there are bears in the barn either, but he don't go in there.

Best way to find a lost tool is to go to town and buy a replacement. Jim

Thats just plain normal life around my shop. Look all day for some thing and the next day there it is right in plain site. Guess thats why I have 2 or more of almost every thing. LOL That way I can loose it twice and that gives me twice the chance to find it. LOL

Let me guess, you couldn't find that wrench because someone actually put it back where it belonged? I have lost several good wrenches over the years, usually found them later that evening in my overalls pockets.

I don't lose tools as a rule! But DanG I lost my best centre punch a year ago. I tore the place apart looking for it no luck.

The other day I open up a drill bit case and voila there be my punch staring at me. I've used the drill bits a hundred times since I lost the punch.

I've got it figured down to the squirels that share the shop with me...
