Hi, I have a Ford 641 with a three point hitch. I'd like to be able to tow a utility trailer with it and need to fashion, weld or buy some kind of hitch that would pull the trailer.

Is there such an attachment out there or does anyone have a picture of one?

Jim,
I found and purchased this one on Ebay in the spring of this year. It accepts any 2 inch receiver item, and as can be seen in the picture it has a drop hitch in it. I also put my 2 5/16 ball mount on it as well as a hook. I paid under 100 bucks for it delivered to the house, but the unfortunatly the man no longer makes them to sell. This one is well made, and I have seen some similar to this on Ebay since. The only other place I saw one was at Northern Tools. Their address is www.northerntool.com
I will include a link to one they sell for cat 2 and 3 here. They show one in the catalog for a cat 1, but I can"t find it on the web site right now. It"s 200 bucks which is why I bought the one on Ebay.
If you have a welder, there is no reason you can"t make your own. You could even buy just the receiver part and take it to a welder with some dimmensions and have one made cheaper than Northern wants for theirs, just a thought.
HTH, George

Put a 2 5/16" ball on top of that thing and move goose neck trailers around. Ed

Being a Falcon man as well as a tractor man, I'm curious; how come so many old Falcons in the background? Brian G. NY (Former '65 Sprint owner)

Well you see Brian, I have found it's easier and cheaper to collect Falcons than it is women. The Falcons seem to last longer. They rarely argue. The don't go on shopping sprees. If they break down, they don't have to go to counseling. If you get tired of them, you can sell them. You can take them out, and they are always willing to go back home with you. If their body starts going bad, you can replace just the bad parts and make them good as new. If they start loosing power in their old age, you can install a new engine and they are good for another hundred thousand. They never ever go through "the change of life". The older they get, the more you appreciate them. You know, I could just go on and on.

By the way, I use it to move almost everything around here including the the equipment trailer, the 28 foot travel trailer and an occasional car or sand toy. The best part, you don't have to get off the tractor to hook it up if it has enough tongue weight. Just back under the coupler, lift and go. Very handy.

If you have a draw bar as well as the three-point hitch, you could weld on a piece of 2 1/4" square tube to take a 2" ball receiver off a truck.

Here's a diagram (robbed from SpeeCo's website) of a drawbar lock. The oblong opening is where the end of your 11 hole drawbar goes. The other part of the lock clamps to your lift arm. The keeps the drawbar from rotating.

Then you just bolt the appropriate size ball to one of the holes in the drawbar and you're ready to go.

You can go the other route also as pictured by Tim, but then you have to crank the trailer up and down to hook it up. With the 11 hole drawbar you can just back up to the trailer with the 3 point lift down, then when you're under the hitch of the trailer, lift up on the touch control to hook up the trailer.

You'll probably have to go to TSC to get the lock. I think SpeeCo only sells wholesale to dealers, but I could be wrong.

Like Mike said - get the drawbar at TSC and buy the drawbar lock while your at it. Put a ball in the center hole and the lock keeps it from rotating.

Just about any place or catalog that sells 3-pt parts or implements will sell adjustable arms that mount on the top link, and angle out to the ends of the draw bar to keep it from swinging side-to-side, and a little angled bracket that you bolt to one of the above and a hole in the drawbar to keep the drawbar from turning over. The latter are easily made from a piece of angle iron. Then, as others have said, just bolt a ball into one of the holes in the draw bar.

The set up Tim Ok shows below with a pair of the stabilizing arms described above would be best.

I was thinking Northern Tool has the tool you're looking for but couldn't find on their web site. Try their catalog.

Otherwise a little bit of iron and some quality time in the shop will get you fixed up.

Tims idea is the best way to go. Yes you can get the set up that goes on the 3 point but it can/will cause you problems. With the 3 point set up your trailor will jump up and down on you a lot and can even cause you to loose your load and or flip a tractor is your not real careful.

You can bolt a ball to the multi-hole flat drawbar (that goes crossways between the 3 point arms- purchase one at the local farm supply store if you don't have one), but you'll have to rig up a bracket that keeps the drawbar from rotating on the 3 point pins- I've seen them, and they may be commercially available, but wouldn't know where.

if you have your drawbar on, install 2 inch ball that has 3/4 inch sized bolt underneath, need to find longer bolt to get enuf of the nut on

I pull very heavy Vermeer chipper that way

Something like this?? You can throw a trailer ball on a drawbar for quick and easy..add an a-frame that bolts to 11 hole type drawbar and attaches to top link for a better hitch or do something like this..you can buy these from northern tool, ebay or other places.. I built this one to accept a hay spike,I can put a hitch in the bottom one to pull trailers or use my carry-all,put the hitch in the top hole and move my gooseneck trailers around with it..very handy tool..

I'll add mine... This is real simple to build, two pieices of angle iron, and one piece of square tube. I drilled a hole in the tube for the ball hitch so I could change out for a differnt size if I wanted to. The pins on the end are from Tractor Supply, about $1.50 each. Here is a pic off:
