Recently purchased a New 2005 Chevy 3500 1 Ton 6 Liter Gas Flatbed. While Looking it over underneath I wondered where is the gas filter. There is none. They used to be on the frame rail under the drivers door. I have asked several people at my Dealers and have not yet recieved a good explanation for this. Now just what happens if you get some water or crud in the gas?? Anyone out there had this problem yet? Thanks CB48

Just looked in the GM parts catalog. No filter. You have to buy the whole fuel tank sender module, says includes lifetime filter.

My 1996 Dodge is this way and so far has no problem sucking gas thru it at 160,000 miles.

lifetime filter? yea, right! what happens when you get some bad gasoline that cruds up the filter? replacing the entire sender module would be expensive. i think i would have to find someone that could put an inline filter on the fuel line. at least that could be changed at reasonable cost.

The fact still remains that you CANNOT remove the integral filter from the Fuel Delivery Module(fuel pump). It will plug up under normal driving conditions, so adding an external filter is a waste of time...Randy...ASE Master
