Hi All,

Thought I'd give you a update as I seen the Judge yesterday for the $480 ticket I got.

Judge met me in the hallway as his court was being used by another Judge. Strange???

Judge asked me how I plea. Well I dropped the tanks on the roadway but only because one hold down strap broke so I think it's more of an accident, not that I willfully didn't tie the tanks down.

Judge ask me " how heavy was the hold down straps, well how heavy were the tanks"
100lbs each

Judge "Raise your right hand and swear you gave the complete truth" I did

Ticket dismissed and Merry Christmas Not too bad for hallway justice.

That's it, no court costs or fine!!! Well thank you Judge :<)

The insurrance has paid all claims. The last I heard it was right at $5k

There's Lost Load part1 and part2 if you want to read the complete story in the archives.

I'm not much of a gambler, but if I were you I think I would buy a Lottory ticket, chances are, you'll win.

Glad to hear that T-Bone! Looks like a decent Christmas gift and with luck like that you may want to consider a LOTTO ticket.

Merry Christmas and glad it worked out!

T-Bone, It does look like Santa wears disguises from time to time. Are you sure that was the real judge and not some homeless guy having fun out in the hall? ;-)

Love it. Undoubtedly you had some country justice. They use a little common sense and celebrate the holidays with a lot of giving to the common man that just had a run of bad luck. Really glad that part of it worked out for you. Merry Christmas to you and the family.

We are all glad, I think, that no one was injured. We got a free lesson out of this.

I have seen this happen several times and have been on both ends of the fence.

Case 1.....
I was in a accident where I touched another car and put a black tire mark on the blinker lens. Did not break the lens just a black mark. Questionable who is at fault. Cop comes out and gives me a ticket with some name I can not even remember. Said it means I did not do every thing possible to avoid accident. Tells me it is for insurance purposes and the DA will throw it out once claims paid.
Sure enough insurance pays for new lens and I head for court. DA ask did my insurance fix the other car; I say Yes; case dismissed have a good day.

Case 2.....
My daughter hit a truck that cut in front of her. Cop comes out; questionable as who is really at fault; puts other driver at fault on report but does not issue a ticket. After a long drawn out court battle with lawyers and all daughter is found to be 10% at fault and other driver 90% at fault. Could have saved us a lot of headache if he would have just given the guy a ticket.

Your ticket was NOT issued to punish you. You tied it down and at least made a attempt to be safe. You ticket was issued to make your insurance pay off.
Surprised the Judge did not ask if your insurance had already paid off all claims.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Record sales
The lack of employees
And the major lack of outside help
will cause me to stay home for the holidays.
In fact I am planning on working Christmas day so others can have time off.

BUT

We are flying in (get this) Friday night Jan 13th and back out Monday night Jan 16th.
We will be staying at my sons house in Gaithersburg Md.
While it will be a short stay and I am praying for snow (we do not see much down here) I would really like to meet you.
My e-mail is open.

T bone

Glad to hear things went OK for you on this one.

Sometimes you do get someone who is reasonable. I was on Jury duty this quarter. Had to serve in the middle of corn harvest. Got so disgusted with our county attorney (prosecution). After she neglected to file some damning evidence she also neglected to drop charges. I thought I was going to have vote to aquit a person I thought was guilty. Case was thankfully dismissed before we got to make a verdict. Oh well<;-)
