OK guys, need some help here. I am buying myself a Xmas present at the suggestion of my kids. I want to put an air horn on my F350 dually, mainly to scare the **it out of my neighbors when I feel like it, but also to be able to effectively warn someone a LONG ways away that I am coming through! I have looked on Ebay and there are tons fo them for sale, but some are plastic, some have a separate air compressor and tank, some look small like a factory hron but say 139 db air horn....

I need help choosing one. I also want to mount it under the hood or behind the grill as I don't want any holes in my roof.

Anyone have an air horn on their truck?

Hadley air horns...only way to go.

Get the ones with the long tank that attaches to the frame. It comes with an air hose that you can pump up your tires with, too.

I didn't have air horns, but they were just as loud.....If under hood is what you are looking for,try a set (PAIR)of good 6v elect. horns off a old car(not new ones).....I installed a set off a 1940 Ford sedan, on my 12v motorhome with 460 cu. engine....I think I left the 12v horn relay in place.....Don't blow horn long bursts, just short blasts ...the horn is too loud for someone to stand in front of.....

The horns have been conected to 12v 0n my truck and then my motorhome....about 30 yrs.

Cheep an you will like them....Don

If you have a lot of money to spend, a train horn would do it every time. For about $150.00 you can get a semi air horn out of stainless.

I got an electric horn from a cabin cruiser . I happened to be behind this boat when it was being trailered down the road and came across some low hanging wires. I installed it on my F 450, this thing is loud! I ,too, wasn't satisfied with the stock horn, this one is plenty loud enough. easy install too. Dave

Got a friend that got his mitts on a set of air horns from an old EMD SD-60 locomotive. He called me one night and said to step out on the front porch. He said to listen for 3 honks, which I could hear quite distinctly in the distance. He said he was in Tioga Center N.Y. As the crow flies that's about 13 miles away. S**ks to be his neighbors.

I had a small set from a semi on an old Chevy one time, mounted on the fender under the hood. Ran the actuater cable into the dash, and mounted a truck air tank under the side of the box in front of the left rear wheel. Every time I gassed up I filled the tank through a short hose with a valve stem in the end of it. The semi we have now I got the three train horns off ebay and Caty Bar the Door, they will wake up the dead AND the living. Whole bunch of fun. Harley
