adding a front end loader

Tractor newbie here with a question about front end loaders. I've got a Ford 2810 and want

to put a front end loader on it. My uncle-in-law says not to do it. Something about wearing

out the front axel since it wasn't designed for a loader. Several questions:

1. Is my uncle-in-law full of crap? Its been known to happen.
2. Ball park cost for doing this, parts / installation.
3. Can I find a used loader? Or better just to buy a new kit?
4. Any additional comments or sage advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jason

First of all your uncle in law is full of crap. My ford 2910 1985 model, has the mount holes for a loader to be installed. why would they put them on it if it couldn't handle it?
I was looking for one for my tractor. If you hear of one let me know, thanks.

Don't know what a 2810 is but I had a loader on my 8n. Many thought I should have had a 2 wheel tractor with what I was lifting. Power steering or not. Go for it with (some reservations). Craig

Don't forget to add weight to the back.

Yes loaders are hard on front ends but, there 1000s of tractors out there with them and they do ok. Cost well that depends on who what and where. $500-5000 depending on if new, used, trip bucket etc. I have a number of tractors with loaders and they do well with them and have for 20 plus years.

Uncle inlaw is right, you've got an ag tractor, the front ends are not built for loaders. That said, you can install one, just be careful and don't overload! Price range from $1000-4000 dave
