I had to replace the fill tube on my diesel P/U. the old one rusted and was leaking so I got a new one ($147 !!!!!) and thought I would replace the rubber connecting hoses. Got the larger one for the fill tube but Dodge has discontinued the smaller one for the vent tube. Went to several places and no one had a rubber line that big. (About 3/4-7/8") One place suggested radiator hose so I went with that because it was that or put a bucket under the truck every time I filled up. Anybody have an idea how this will hold up against the diesel fumes?

Radiator hose will not hold up. You might try a marine hardware store. I believe vent lines on boat fuel tanks use a 5/8" id line that may fit your application. A good marine hardware store will stock fuel tank hose.

You should be able to match up the inside diameter with hydraulic hose at a hydraulic shop- then you for sure won't have any problems.

I used some vacumm line on a Chevy diesel fuel pump one time.

Lasted about 20 minutes before it melted and brought be to a dead stop. :>)

I know John Deere has some hose that size for oil return, no wire in it. If it works with oil diesel shouldn't hurt it.

John, I've been using radiator hose in a similar application. After 10+ years, it's still holding up well.

Radiator hose will eventually degrade with exposure to petroleum products. Had a car once where someone had replaced the PCV hose with radiator hose, felt like it was made out of something gooey. You might try looking for "emissions hose" at a real auto parts store.
