Hurmph!!!

Okay, just spent the last 3 hours takin' off a silly loader, which should have been done in 20 minutes max. Yep, I kid you not; the prior owner had welded the loader to the tractor!!

Get that all accomplished, load the tractor up, haul it in here to the shop, leave it idleing while I go unhook the trailer. Come back to this mess!

Prior owner strikes again.

Now, why in tarnation did he have to put heater hoses on the hydro cooler?? UGH!

Oh well, good time to open that hydro up and find 'er difficulity anyway....heck, the oil is already drained! Be just my luck that he has already been in there ahead of me tho. :>)

Just think you could have gone in and had lunch, and come back to a burned up pump. Stan

Allen, Don't know what hydro model you have there, without the hide. There is some linkage that moves when you move the lever sideways to go thru the neutral gate, not the same spool that moves when going fore and aft.

We had a 1026 that would not go forward well when warm. Sent it to the hospital and they found the linkage that moves when you shift the lever sideways thru the forward/reverse gate was worn. Replaced a couple of parts and it has been running ever since.

A Duetz tractor came in to the welding shop that I used to work at to remove the loader. The prior owner had welded the loader to frame and added extra channel irons because of crack in bell housing we assume because the bell housing had been brazed also. It took about 6 hours to cut it all loose so I know what that is all about. He must of used about 50 lbs of welding rod on the thing. Did you call the DNR for that oil spill. HA HA

Shhhhh,

There's a nice fat drain located just about where I was standin' when I took the picture.

Soon's it warms up above freezin', I'll think I'll maybe test my garden hose. :>)

Oh,.... not good. You never know what you will really run in to when you buy used stuff (or new stuff for that matter). Try to keep a positive outlook. At least it is winter and you can work on this and you won't be tempted to hit the bars.;-)

I feel for you, never had anything quite that extreme but it does make a guy realize that maybe there should be some sort of test to pass before being allowed to purchase wrenches.

One thing about it buddy, we know now that you're not a quitter. Gasser, automatic, middle of winter, not enough paper to list all the problems, and you still have a sense of humor. Git-er-done, and remember, we're there for you , cause we're all in this together. Just kinda glad that that one is in your shop. WAYYYYY YYYYY Y to complicated for me, Harley

Way too complicated fer me too.

I know it is loosing pressure on that forward side. Yesterday, I used it in very cold weather fer about an hour.

The darned thing worked just fine as long as the oil was cold. Just as soon as she started gettin' up to temp, it went to slippin' on the forward side.

I'm gonna open 'er up and take a peek at that forward end and if I don't see something real obvious, real fast, I'll just buttom 'er up and haul 'er to town. :>)

Does the trans have 2 relief valves like a sunstrand in a combine? Does it slip in both direction or just one. I"ve had a weak relief on forward cause a combine to slip foward and not reverse--changed relief valves from one to the other it slipped the other way---I"ve never been in a IH but dont they use the same pump and motor forward and reverse just change flow direction?

Hi Dave,

Yep, that's exactly how they work; trouble is on this stinker, those guys are located inside the tractor.

I'm a novice, so I'll just take a peek in there and hope I get lucky with something real obvious. :>)
