I am think about planning my head on a 1950 'M Farmall. i was told all i should plan is 10 to 12 thousands. what do you all think

.010" or .012" sure isn't much! Are you trying for more power, or to correct a pitted or warped head?

More power? Check pulling board for Chad S- he had some IHC hopup tips that included milling heads about .040/1mm or more depending on pistons. You were given normal machine shop recommendation for flatenning head to take care of pits and minor warping for good sealing- this is good advice for working use and long life. Hotrodding is different, engine life expectancy is not a prime concern. RN
