I am replacing my piston in my 730 jd and a man is trying to sell me NOS piston with rings and pins. They are bubble top pistons. But I notice when I was taking my old pistons out, they are cone top piston. Is this man selling me the wrong pistons?

The pistons should have a part number so you can track down exactly what they fit.

The 730 and part or all of the 720's used narrow spray pattern injector tips with six orifices. 13 mm injection pumps too. And the piston had a narrow but deep combustion chamber. I would have to check the parts book to be certain The 70, 80 and early 820's used a five hole, wide spray injector tip. And 10mm injection pumps. The piston had a shallow/wide combustion chamber. Some vicious fights and flaming have occurred during discussions about using the wide pistons/narrow injectors or wide injectors and narrow pistons. Those pistons would have to be pretty cheap and you should have somebody with a 70D looking for original pistons to sell them to.
