Weather man is calling for snow Wednesday so I guess tomorrow I'll pull out the V snow plow. Only trouble is evert time I do that we don't get snow. I've hooked it up every year for the past 3 years and haven't gotten enough snow to even fire up the tractor. So I guess I'll pull it out so I don't have to plow snow. LOL

We got just a skiff here in Springfield yesterday, We'll see what Wed. brings. 30 years ago I had a pull type V-Plow made of rail road ties, you talk about something that would hang you up fast, pulled it with a Oliver 88 my first real tractor, wish I had that old Ollie back.

I have a Oliver 77 I'll sell you. Ya I know its not the same or as big but its and ollie. No you can't have my Super 88. My V plow hooks to the front end loader so it works real well. Its 9 foot wide so all I have to do is one pass and I'm done but thats a 2 mile pass since I have 2 miles of drive I have to do.

Yeap, but you got to be ready for the "BIG ONE". So far this year we got about 6 in. of snow on the ground and this morning it was -13 and thank God no wind. I raise beef cattle and hogs, and for the last 25 years have this little hobby of blading and plowing snow for the township I live in. The photo is of my '72 Oshkosh plow truck that I use. I use it 99% of the time for plowing, beats a motor grader all to hollow. GVW on the truck is 42,000 lbs. It also has a 12 foot wing hanging out of the other side. Have big V-plow for it but it has to be pretty deep to put that on, at least it is quick tach if I need to put it on.

Know what your saying. Most years its the same thing with snow blower put it on and dont use it. So this year I put hay bales in front of blower in shed. Thought I would have that many fed before big snow. Well Sunday morning had to dig about 35 big rounds out to get to blower. But we got her done.

High feed prices, low cattle prices, drought, now this year it's snow up to my "you know what" and it's only the first of December. But I'm in this cattle business for keeps it seems and the cows will calve in the spring and the cycle will start again.
