Please dont get taken like I and everyone I have talked to. The HOUSE BOSS 10 FOOT was a peice of junk. 90 day warranty. Within the first 5 hours the right blade assy. dropped off, the gearbox couplers came apart, the trailing wheels came apart. had to rebuild the right gearbox, and now the output shafts are loose again. The universals on the p.t.o. shaft are bad. I'll swear I havent used this bush hog 35 hours. A friend carried his back to the factory twice. I also have a covington cutter 5' I have used for 23years.
HOWSE stuck me for 2000.00 but they will never do it again. good luck.

I bought a 6 foot Howse earlier this year and have cut with it about 5 times now and love it. Maybe I havent had it long enough but so far it is doing great. This was definitely the most cutter for the money because this cutter has a 100 HP gearbox and all of the other brands in this price range had 45 HP gearboxes which is the main reason I bought along with good reviews from people that I knew that had Howse implements. Well good luck

Howse rotary cutters are BAD news. Do NOT buy one. They are noted for coupling problems between the gearboxes. The overall quality is marginal at best.

I agree. I have a 6' and it was cheap. Would be ok for some one who just cuts a little, but if you want a dependable bush hog spend a little extra and get a good name brand bush hog.

Thanks, Guys for the info! I currently have and would keep a 6' Ford that does a good job in both light or heavy cutting! A friend and I are looking for a 10' cut to use on pasture. He has an older 13'rigid frame which is a pain to road and get thru gates. Since I plan on keeping the 6' 3PTH Ford for sapplings, the 10' unit would be used on grass, briars, and sage grass pastures! Sometimes would be a heavy load and sometimes not!

I really don't mind paying extra for quality, however! The price on the Howse seemed good, BUT I didn't know anything about them!

Thanks again!!

I learned in marketing that when a company is so well known that their product is used synominously with the product made by others, then you've got a great product. For example, many call it clorox instead of bleach, kleenex instead of tissues, and in this case, you all are calling it a bush hog instead of a brush cutter. Take a look at a real bush hog, manufactured by bush hog. I don't own one, I own a sidewinder, but if I ever can justify a new one, it will in all likelihood be a "Bush Hog" brand.
