First check oll your bearings for rusted-stock-wore out conditions and for proper lub, just replacing and lubbing bearings can make things change like adding power steering would or even be easier than with power steering added

I put a factory hydrolic Power Steering unit on my 504 HI Clear..... Make sure you have the stomach for the tear down and expense. It requires different steering shaft under dash, Charlyn unit, oil cooler, Almost must have a larger hydrolic pump, Various plumbing fixtures and about $1,500 to $2,000 to do it really good.

If you decide to go the factory route, I probably have a hydraulic pump that will work for you. Its a double pump- the larger capacity portion supplies a steady, priority flow to the power steering, and the balance to the remotes; the smaller capacity portion supplies the 3 point. I say "probably" because I thought mine was bad, so bought another (from Nebraska Cowman, actually)- but after I got into the project, it appears that the pump may not have been the problem. I would test out my old one before selling.

Pete, In the days those were made, there was a CharLynn and a Behlen add-on for any thing, tractors, s/p combines, etc. If you're lucky enough to find one, they work great. John
