Well I found my problem this morning. The scope mount was loose in one place and was letting the scope go up and down just a little bit, not much but enough to make me miss yet another deer this morning. I pulled each screw out and put a little silicone in each screw hole, I also pulled the scope off and put a dab of silicone in the bottom and the top of the mount rings. Its sitting now and waiting for the silicone to dry some before I go site it in. I would have used locktite but I didn't have any so I did the silicone instead. Hope it helps, this SKS has been a good gun up till this year, and has drop a few deer in the last 10 years.
Thanks

Old, no wonder I've been having problems, I've been using silicone for a lubricant. You know as we get older we sometimes look for excuses for our eyesight. Good luck. Hope you get your deer.

you should have used some kind of thread lock
on the screws or you will have more problems in the future for sure!

Thats what the silicone was for. I put it on the treads of all the screws, I know it works to lock nuts and bolts on tractor so I figured it would also work on the scope.

Don"t feel bad Old. I missed a HUGE buck yesterday at 35 yards with my bow. If I woulda practiced more during the off time I woulda nailed that puppy. In my case it wasn"t a loose site...wish it was :-). Only deer I saw during 2 days but boy was it worth it!!!

HI

Don't feel bad I miss one 5 five years ago, 75 Ft. 300 ackley, Don't ask how, all I know 8 point nice 18" spead . Missed shooting the biggest Buck I ever saw in the wood two day later. Shot and kill a coyote, later that same season; at 80 yds. threw medium heavy brush. So I no longer make any fun at any one that missing.

As for the locktite I use the red.
