Hi, I have a 1992 F250 Diesel - heavy duty version. It has the non powerstroke 7.3 liter IHC engine with 250,000 miles - it is a 4x4 regular cab. A local guy has a 1993 F350 Dually extended cab with 460 engine that has 130,000 miles and is 2 wheel drive. I often thought it would be better to get a truck with lower miles and gas since they start easier in the winter etc. He has offered to trade his F350 for my F250. My F250 is rougher than his F350, but it is a diesel and 4x4.

What do you guys think about these 2 truck...
It will be used to haul a tractor/wagons, etc only 3-4 times per year, rest would be general usage that a truck sees.

Thanks!

2 wheel drive around here makes it almost worth less. They do good in other places but not here

If you haven't already, run around for a month without using 4 X 4 and see how many times you would be stuck.

Forget the trade!

Around here that would be a $10,000 trade against you. Any kind of diesel 4x4, esp those non powerstoke 7.3's brings better than new price around here, at least up to 500,000 miles. A 100,000 miles on a gas engine 2wd is worth less than $6000 no matter what it is (unless some dealer is selling it).

I think you would be taking a hit on this deal, even with the mileage. The fuel mileage of that Ford gas motor is gonna kill you. My dad had a '91 with I think a 351, 2wd, reg cab. We stopped at pretty much every gas station.

I would keep what you have, I have a 93 model with 340000 miles on it and is still my work horse truck! As for as starting, use good fuel, good batteries and add some power service now and then!
Goog luck,
Ron
