In reference to the discussion below regarding splitting wedges:
I found it...measures about 12" long, weighs about 6 lbs. Has manufacturers name, but hard to read, appartently made in Pittsburgh, PA.
For scale, I posed my "hunting dog" Scooter with it.

That's a perfect picture of Scooter. I think it would make a great picture on a calendar.

Thanks for the info on the wedge.

My wife got 3 cats last year here on the farm. They had 11 kittens this spring.

Those 11 cats would love to 'play' with Scooter..... ...

the one i have is all round with out the wedge. used mine today again LOVE the bang. i'll bet that there must be some law that makes them illegal kind of like a pipe bomb might have the ATF on my a$$

Hey guys, my dad still talks about those things. Back when you could still get boomers, they started this thing in a log, filled it with powder, then layed another log on top of it and lit it and ran like heck. The top log held the wedge down, then the powder blew it down into the lower log. Harley
