My future wife and I are thinking of getting married at the little brown church in the vale. Most of all because her grandpa and grandma got married there, and we also know we would enjoy getting married there. If you or someone you know got married here. What did you think of it??

Go for it. I'm sure if you put some effort into your marriage, it will work just fine. My grandparents just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last week, and they were married at this church. Congratulations to you and your future Mrs.!

Sounds romantic! But remember, it's not where you tie the knot but what you put into the union later. A Latter Day Saint Bishop will marry you for free. If you are looking for longevity, get married in a Morman temple. It is the only place you can marry for "time and eternity" not just till death do you part. The divorce rate for Temple marriages is about 7% compared with over 50% of all marriages. My bride and I are working on 49 years now. Be sure to pick the right one, eternity is a long time! Ed

Congrats ! A Deere would make a great wedding limo. This couple near where I live a couple of years ago used a brand new Deere 8420 as their limo to go from the church to the reception. Saw them go by my place, all decked out and in the Deere. With a send off like that, that should be a union made in heaven. Anyway, good luck!!

Got married, walked out of church, new wife and wedding party climbed on hay rack, new father-in-law jumped on his dad's B that he and I got running (not restored, just got running, had decent original paint, but had been sitting for 15+ years in barn) 2 tries on the starter, and off we went. That has not been that long ago, but like the B, sometimes we get started right and things go smoothly, and sometimes we have to stop and work things out. Marriage is a heaven sent relationship that requires alot of cooperation between two individuals first-the husband/wife and the lord, and two people second the husband and wife.

Thanks guys in reply to I Bleed Green, 11-06-2005 08:54:10

That is for the ones who helped! I myself have been married one's before, but just because it didnt workout its not going to stop me from getting married again. I did a much better job of finding the right woman this time, and i know we will be happy. For all the suckers here who look at getting married as so bad. Maybe you just need to grow up some.

I was married, the first time in a Chapel of the Episcopal Cathedral in Cincinnati...paid the priest a gratuity, wasn't much, and the organist. Friends and family, small, and a potluck reception with the same rowdy crowd, LOL, it was great! No cost to speak of, everybody had fun...you might as around for similiar.

Good luck...

Don't listen to these old crabs. When it works out, it's the greatest thing there is. And if it don't - well, you won't know unless you try. Do it, don't look back. For it to work, you have to work at it and don't give up.

I notice your name "I Bleed Green" You will really be bleeding green dollars a few years down the road. Green to lawyers, Green for child support, Green to the landlord of the little 9x12 apartment you are living in when everyone is finished bleeding you out. The wife's new honey will probably really enjoy your tractors that she will end up with.

Aunt & Uncle got married there several years ago. Nice little church. They are in Waterloo, so it isn't far away. They had a ceremony there on thier 25th Anniversary, too.

Hate to rain on your parade (or your wedding) but a statistic they don't publish is the fact that the failed marriage rate (ie divorce and separation) is double that of the national average for those getting hitched there. What the heck, roll the dice young fella, statistics mean nothing right? But remember this when you're sitting down with your lawyers at $200 per hour.

My parents got married there in 1946, and myu youngest brother got married there also. They run them through quite fast, seems about an hour or less between weddings.

I heard in my neck of the woods "marriage is the leading cause of divorce" My buddys kid said that to the groom and bride at their wedding, was pretty funny.
