How do you connect the steel brake line on a pickup truck to the rubber brake hose that goes to the caliper? Mine is rotted away.

Depends on the truck. On a chev theres a pipe nut that does that.

Should have the same sort of thing. Just trace the line up to where it hooks to the frame etc and you should see where you can disconnect to 2 of them. Every car/truck I have ever worked on where the same and I've done almost all brands at one time or the other.

Yep you need a male pipe thread on the brake line 1/8 npt. Just follow the line to where it connects to the frame like "old" said. If the lines are shot I bet yah the bleeder's will be too. Just did the lines on my 88 F250 last weekend every bleeder valve snapped off with minimal torque applied.

Bet I could have gooten the bleeders loose with out brakeing them. Yes theres a trick to it. Next time before you put a wrench on them smack the s$!t out of each of them with a hammer. So far if I do that I have never braken one off. Got that from a guy that died years ago like most of what I know how to do and tell you guys on here.

A brand new slave cylinder only costs a little bit more than a rebuild kit, why mess around a rusted and stuck unit only to end up with something you can't use anyhow?
