I can not find production numbers on the total number of 4020 gas console models built. It is a 1970 model. I am looking at one that has 3200 hours on it and is equiped with dual hydraulics and is immaculate. It has been stored for quite a while under two canvas tarps in a machine shed. Forty twenty.com was not much help in that respect. Thanks!

Two cylinder produced a production register and if I remember right ther were about 3% of side console tractors that are gas engines and also have a 1969 4020 gas.

I do not think that the records kept by Deere and Co, for the 4020 series are of the sort that is amendable to modern methods of computer usage. My thought is that they were probably recorded on IBM computer punch cards, and that they were stored electroniclly on magnetic tape. Both of these methods are long obsolete and are no longer in useage.

This is the sort of computer data records that Deere at least used in the 1960's when my father, an industrial engineer at the John Deere Ottumwa Works was using what I recall as being an IBM 360 which used those methods.

The punch cards may still exist, but they would have to be gone over MANUALLY, a task requiring 2-3 man-months of labor. The price for that information would be very high and Deere and Co. is totally unlikely to spring for the cost of doing it, nor are they likely to allow volunteers the chance to come in and do it either.

Sorry.

There are educated guesses for many of the more scarce varieties however, if that is any consolation.

Can't help you on the numbers, but 4020's are great tractors. I have a 4020 side console Diesel, and I think it is a great tractor. If you are really going to use this tractor, just be prepared for gas consumption. I'm not saying don't buy, It sounds like a very nice tractor.
