The other day I notice my tranny oil was awful white looking. Upon further inspecting I noticed there was no coolant left in the rad or block. MMMM?? It wuz all in the tranny. How'd it get in there? More important What do I use to flush all the white guck out of the tranny. Yes it was run about 15 minutes like that. Will the cluches be alright. I should be able to finish splitting it tonight to see the full extent of the damage and where the coolant got in. Maybe this has happened to someone else out there??

thanx in advance. Gene.

Yep Gotter split last night and removed the torque limiter and vola!!!! dang frost plug rusted through. Now a $10 part, 3HRs of labour, 2Hrs of flushing systems, and we will be back in the Field. Thanks all for your comments.

First of all, I'm no expert on a 970 case. But I think you might have 2 different problems. Can't see how antifreeze would get to your tranny. Not connected in anything I own. But then agin I'm only 53 years old and don't know everything yet. Probably know everything when I'm in my 90s and then no one will talk to me then, least not ask me questions. Craig

Took a quick look in my manual but didn't see what I was looking for. However the powershift version has a wet clutch. So anything that comes out the back of the engine would end up in the tranny. I was looking to see if there was a freeze plug back there. I saw a plug for the cam and a pipe plug for something. Hopefully it will only be something like that and not a crack.

BTW Craig, My problem is just the oppsite - I new it all 23 years ago. Sadly I forgot most of it at the fine age of 17 when my hormones kicked in(late bloomer) and I got stuck on stupid.
