Stay as far away from major cities as you can! The biggest cities all have their own, specific and unique gas blends, and that alone causes gas sold in thier cities to be far higher than what it is in normal places! Get off of the interstate and buy gasoline from someplace not right there waiting to gouge travelers too! Those places feel they have to charge extra due their having a "captive" clientelle. Iowa gasoline runs around $2.499/gal.

Goodie ! Now that it's dropping we can all forget about alternatives again and I can go back to driving my gas gussling pickup out in public.

Dug,

Same here; the price is falling like a rock at the rate of a dime a day; saw a sign yesterday at $2.36.

'Course, out here, we can't afford the high prices, consequently would rather walk than buy and they don't move any fuel in the two dollar range. It just rots in their tanks.

If ya wanna learn the definition of "lonesome", just stand in a filling station lot. Emptiest place in town. :>)
