I need some back up, does any one else think that this is just the stupidest thing that could happen. Ok I"m a big john deere freak. The people at our school all it is is racing, dirt bikes and four wheelers. This is the Bull part everyone is always at races but when the thresher show was on.NO ONE. I think tractors are way more fun than any dang dirtbike. Thanks for your openion
I love tractors and I always will. :)

Jamason, Hate is a pretty strong word, and a most destructive state of mind. You have the makings of a darned good web site, if you approach it in a postive manner. On this site, you will find folks of all persuasions as to tractor preferences, but I doubt anyone hates another color. We may debate which is best, but I"ve found out, that with this old iron, that they all have their virtues, regardless of brand name. While I have a couple of Farmalls that are near and dear to me, I can well appreciate any tractor that has been rescued from the scrap heap. You mention that you play the trombone in the band. I think that is great. While I don"t play in a band and never have, I do enjoy hitting a few licks on the old Hammond organ. In fact, I have one in my shop, and will sit at it quite frequently relieve stress. I think musicial instruments are in a way like tractors, we all have our druthers, but they all sound better when played with other instruments. Some of the best tractor shows I"ve attended were those that had a lot of different brands of tractors. Even in the tractor realm, there are guys who like to show, some like plowing or working thier old iron, and some enjoy pulling. Sort of like dirt biking or racing. There is room for all of us. I do hope you like it here on this site, and also hope you reconsider the use of the word hate. It taints which is otherwise a fine web site, and I"m also sure a fine young man.

good site jamason.i see you have talent.i"m 41 and don"t know how to set up a website.wished i did! nice JD too.you should take some of this energy you have used to be hateful and direct it towards learning more about the big world of antique tractors and equipment. when i was 13 i became interested in gas engines and tractors. i restored my grandmas maytag washing machine motor and got a ride to the republic mo steam-o-rama. i had a cousin that showed gas engines there.he introduced me to some older fellows there that showed me their engines and let me help them work on them.i learned about witte, stover, economy, and dozens of other engines.that winter i bought a moniter.next summer, a f-20 on steel.what i am saying is,there is hundreds of directions to go.don"t limit yourself.it"s all about learning.i try to learn something new everyday. a smart friend told me once, you never stay the same.you are going forward or your going backwards.you decide. i"m sure your dad helps you in your hobby.let him know your grateful.your lack of respect for him sheds a bad light on you.maybe you don"t agree with him,but you owe him better than that. i have a 19 year old son myself.we have had our differences, but i respect him and he respects me.period.we don"t bad mouth each other to other folks.we TALK.trust me it works. you can go places, but not by walking on others and their feelings. keep up the good work on the website!

I have to say I agree with these guys Jamason.

It is real nice to see a guy your age into this great hobby. I myself am a member of the younger generation of tractor collectors, being 28 years old. There are not many in our age group and we need to help change that. With that in mind we need to be more open minded about this old iron. I am a John Deere lover personally, but I would take any old peice of equipment if it was available around here. It is real hard to find the old stuff here in the Nations Capitol area. Everything is getting developed so fast, all you see is multi-lane highways and multi-story buildings.

It would be great to see you lossen up just a little and spend more time enjoying, rather than being a hater of certain colors/makes/or hobbies.

BTW my name is Dave, I have a 1949 JD A, a McCormick No. 7 Sickle mower, an unknown make horse drawn manure spreader, looking for anything else I can find. I drive a 1979 Ford Bronco. A great piece of old "Iron" when compared to newer vehicles. I love threshing, running the baker fan, tractor pulling, auto racing, motorsports. I am a former railroad engineer and have an operating knowledge of steam locomotives/traction engines.

There is room for us all in this hobby!
Best of luck to you.
Dave

Dude, you need to get out more!. Sure theres old tractors, but there are so many other things in this world of ours. I read your opinion about fourwheelers and dirtbikes being dangerous and how you think old tractors is safer. Well, it is and it isn't, you have a much better chance of survival when you flip a fourwheeler or dirtbike than a tractor. Did you know there is a chance you might die at any second for a countless number of reasons?. There is risk when you get in a vehicle and drive someweres, just look at how close you are with oncoming traffic and you both are traveling at 50mph, if you should come together, that would be a combined speed of 100mph. Looks to me like you haven't experienced much in your young life yet. Whats wrong with racing?, to change your opinion on sports cars, just find yourself a Mustang or Camaro driver with a good V8 under the hood in your school and ask for a "good ride". Take a ride on a fourwheeler or dirtbike too, then decide just how much unfun they are!. Yeah I did that stuff and I'm still here and so are my friends who was worse than I was, only I got too many hobbies and not enough time now!. Life is all about experiences, don't let it pass you by because it will.
Ripping on your dads tractor like that isn't right either, you need to stop the negativity, and take in the world.

I also hope you learn to have more respect for your father and his equipment. Just because you don't like something, doesn't make it cr*p. I can't stand JD, but you (and everyone else) has the right to have your favorites - without being raked over the coals for it - unless you buy a Yuppie tractor - then you DESERVE what you get! 8^)

You have a nice site going, just need to fix the spelling and get rid of the negativity and cuss words, they just make you look ignorant. We all don"t have the same interests and its OK to like Ford and motor cross bikes.

You have some nice photos on your site.

However, you might want to check your spelling. I found quite a few typos.

I really hope you don't hate the other kids at your school. If you do, that's a shame.

As you go through life, you'll find that there are many who don't have the same interests that you do. That's no reason to hate someone. Too much hate in the world anyway.

Have you tried riding a motocross bike or ATV? They're fun, so don't knock 'em until you've tried them.

Old iron is a fun hobby that attracts folks from all walks of life, city folks, farm folks, young, old, etc. There is more than enough room for more than one brand of tractor on the planet. How boring would it be if all of the tractors were one color or brand?

Live and let live, my friend. Life is too short to do otherwise.

I visted your site, you're going about this all wrong. I can understand you don't like ford or anything else. Just don't say it the way you do. Save those decals for your chevy truck. Personally, we only have a JD disk, grain drill and corn planter. Everything else is Oliver, Massey, Ford, New Idea, Gehl and Fox. Also some other's in there. Some are better than other's, but deere is just too much money for some green and yellow paint.

All of us are interested in old iron, doesn't matter in the color as most are brown with rust anyway.

Now that's what we like to see. Not changing your mind, just temporing it a little. It's hard sometimes, but the middle of the road is a lot easier traveled than just one side, or just the other side. Pick your opinions and stay with them, but have tollerance for the other person's opinions also. THAT's what freedom is all about. Harley
