OT: Heating costs this year - corn stoves

Gonna cost alot more to heat a home this winter, and here in Ontario or corn is almost worthless right now, so heating with corn stove seems like a good solution.

We had a corn stove in the early 90's and it gave off GREAT heat, but the clinker cleaning really annoyed my father, and he finally replaced the corn stove with a wood pellet stove (which gives off nowhere near the same heat)

Been reading around and it seems many corn stove makers have changed the clinker system so it only needs to be cleaned out every 3 days to a week. So we're thinking of going back...

Can anyone give more insight into the new cornstoves? For some reason www.harmanstoves.com will not load for me, I hear good things about them.

Especially looking for Ontario dealers!

They work great, we put one in at my parents house last fall, my brother liked it so much he put one in his house after that, and I just bought one and carried it down to the basement Saturday. It sure is going to be nice to have the basement warm and not cost an arm and a leg to do it, talked to a couple of the guy's here in Minnesota and they were saying that the corn prices went down a bit they think it is because they can't ship it down river right now with the hurricane damage down south.
