I"m going to look at a WHITE FIELD BOSS it has 80hp and is a Perkins diesel, don"t know how many hours or what year. Need to know what someone thinks of this tractor, and what is a good price to pay for one with good tires new seat looks in good shape from photos, also is the perkins engine hard to find parts for and are they more expensive than other diesels that would be in a tractor that weighs 11,400lbs..... tks..... .Phil H.

Hello Phil, I agree, we have a 1085 Massey w/ a perkins in that same hp range. Love that motor, starts nice, good power, and really good on fuel. Never owned a tractor with a Perkins in it before, but have been impressed with this one. I think JDNut is right on with the price range. I've never owned a White, but have a friend who farms with them, he seems to like em. later Brokenwrench

I'd jump on it if it is in any kind of shape. I had one a while back. 85 HP 2-85. Good solid tractor, ruggedest one you'll see in that size range, wish I'd kept it. The Perkins is one of the best engines of that size ever made. The tractor has filters everywhere on it and the hydraulic oil is separate from the transmission which is very good design. The 3-speed partial range power shift is an excellent unit. You can still get parts for the White at the AGCO dealer. A good White 2-85 or 2-105 (2-85 with a turbo) goes for $6,000 to $12,000 depending on age, condition, hours, whether or not MFD, etc.

Thanks! JD, It is a 2-85, I'm glad to hear that it's a good machine, and the price is right in where you said it should be. I'm going to take a look at it for sure. Appreciate the information..... ..Phil

No problem, good luck with that, hope it is a good unit for you. I know I should have hung on to mine.
