Whats up with girls, fellas? They just don't get tractors like us guys do, ya know. I mean, think about it. All of us have had the ladies start on us on how we spend all our cash on these old babies. If anyone figures it out, let me know.

After reading a few of the posts,it never ceases to amaze me how much all women are the same.My wife always questions me about my toy purchases, but after 38 yrs I expect it.After seeing and hearing the 60 she wants to try driving it.That will be fun,she is 100% women.

You fellows just haven't found the right woman! Out of our 19 tractors we currently have, I have either bought, hauled home or found 7 of them. And yes, I can bale hay with the best of them and I know how to stack it in the barn - but I don't like to do that 'cause I usually tend to break at least one or two nails grabbing the wires and it makes a gal sweat!!! I have two favorite magazines - The Fast Line and Victoria's Secrets - so THERE!!! Nothing says a gal can't be prissy and like tractors at the same time! When you guys think you have us women figured out, we will change on you - just to keep you good and confused! But good luck anyway, Sugar!

MY wife and I have a wonderful understanding on that sort of thing. she loves sewing and I tolerate her trips to some of the sewing shows by sleeping in the Suburban, or looking around town,or whatever. she in turn tolerates my tractors and junk and will go to the shows with me. We have suceeded in this methodology for the past 38 years. The key to it is never bad mouth either party's hobby pursuits. Gene Davis

Get yourself a subscription to Cosmopolitan Magazine. No joke. I have this theory. You start reading Cosmo, and get the low down on what they're thinking before they tell you what they're thinking. You'll head things off at the pass by beating them to the punch.

Still with me? So, they'll start telling their girlfriends and stuff how thoughtful and sensitive you are, unaware that you're just reading their intercepted playbook and using it to your advantage, their disadvantage. Then once they're comfortably right where you want them, you become a guy again and cut them off at the friggin knees.

One last thing about Cosmo, if you read it backwards, like playing some songs backwards on the record player, satanic messages. LOL.

And two last bits of advice. Guys are stupid - every woman alive knows it and has told us that so many times, we'll never be able to count them. Right? Heard it a million times? Well, next time you do something stupid (supposedly), as you'll surely hear, you simply remind them of how stupid we are, and they know it because they've told us a gazillion times, to which they'll agree, and then you go right back to what you were doing before they yelled at you, as they walk away. Can use that one a couple of times before get clobbered with a skillet.

The last bit of advice, the "nuclear option" when they start getting real upity... ask them "In history, how many women Presidents of these United States of America have there been? Huh? Huh? Huh?". Oh, that one will get you sleeping on the couch, in the garage, or the barn, but sometimes it's just what you have to do.

And thats exactly the way I like it, tractor time is 'my time'. Have to give 'that woman' credit, she has never once questioned my decisions on farm spending or what I bought or when I bought it. Told her in 2000 I was going to look at trucks, didnt know if I would be back in 3 hrs or 3 days, and I was taking the check book.

Called her from 5 hrs away at the 3 dealer I went to that I was on my way home, had found an '01 Dodge Cummins that said bring me home. Just tonight, I laid out bills to mail on the table, some are split bills (she had about $200 on a credit card to come out of the house acct, she never blinked that the rest of the bill was huge. In fact the only thing she has said bad this week was when I told her that I had filled the fuel tanks (2000 gallons of diesel and 2000 gallons of propane), and she couldnt believe how much it was, not that I had spent it but that it had gone up so much

Most women have no problems with us purchasing old tractors as long as there is a diamond attached to it. Younger girls may be different.

I can't understand your problem. My wife never says a thing when I get another one. She even wants me to bust my butt on fixing/painting up my WC Speed patrol for a show the 23rd of the month. I even had to modify the trailor just to be able to haul it.

Lot of you boys need to learn to pick better. My wife was the one pushing for the tractor before me. I want to sell the old Ford 8N, and she's pitching a fit over the thought. She wants to keep it.

I am 17 years old and am a junior in high school. My brother is in Iraq and left an Oliver Super 77 Diesel at home for me and my dad to use. I baled over 20,000 bales of hay with it this summer. My dad is an expert mechanic and keeps "my" tractor in great shape. Last spring I drove it to school for Tractor Day. Sorry fellows I already have a boyfriend from Minnesota and his name is Nathan, whom I met in this forum. Furthermore I am not very good looking.

Not much prettier than a gal on a tractor. My wife 'lets' me have any 5 tractors I want on our 4 acre place at any one time. (SOMEONE had to set some sort of limit and it sure wasn't gonna be ME!) Problem is, I now have 4 that I consider permanent 'keepers' so I have to work faster on the fixer so's I don't miss out on any 'good deals' that come around! I'm working on her to raise the 'limit' to ten but I've been afraid to find out what it's REALLY gonna cost me.

Katie, You sound like a wonderful lady to me. I'm hoping that Nathan is man enough to deserve you. I want to thank you for sharing your brother with us in pursuit of freedom. I ask that you will please tell your parents thank you as well, as I very much appreciate their sacrifice. Furthermore, when your brother returns from Iraq, I want you to give him the biggest hug possible and thank him for me too.

Have a great day.

I was a working my Summer Business busting my butt pricing jobs, rounding up materials, doing the work, keeping the books etc. While trying to make and save enough $$$ for the next school semester. I thought, Ok it will make her happy and why not splurge a little $$$. The criics said it was a great show and tickets were sold out weeks in advance. The lady at the time which I almost married. While I still think she is one mighty fine women, wife and mother. And the world would be a better place with more women like her. I dumped her partly because she was so enthralled and probably aroused during that 3-1/2 hour musical. I didn't know until then just how different our tastes were. Having the choice of enduring that musical or getting scoped by the Dr. It would have been a tough choice and we know which would have done more good. Cats was the longested 3-1/2 hours of my life.

I bought an old JD B tractor 6 years ago pretty well stripped, but it had the light brackets I wanted for mine, I paid 50 bucks for it and Chris dumped it in my driveway for 25 bucks. I moved it up behind the shop as wifey was having a major fit about my spending that money on more junk. A week later a fellow was here and bought the head, block and pistons which were salvagable for 300 bucks. When he left I went in the house and got coffee. Wifey asked who the guy was, I handed her 150 bucks and stated "a fellow junk collector".
She asked 'whats this for ?' I told her your half for a couple pieces of junk off that piece of junk I bought last week. I don't hear much anymore when I haul "a piece of junk" in.

Well, I am lucky. My wife is good looking and loves tractors. See was the one that got me to buy our Oliver 1955. I was having a hard time pulling the trigger and she was the one that convinced me to buy it. She loves working on them, and working with them. She does all the raking and some of the tedding for me to when hay baling time comes around.

OT? but a true story.

Feller came in one night expecting a good home cooked supper. Wife wanted to eat out but husband didnt and started to gripe about how much it would cost. Tell me again, she says, How much does it cost to keep them cattle out there.
They went out for supper.
